BIOGRAPHY


Sunil Grover (born 3 August 1977) is an Indian actor and stand-up comedian born into a Punjabi Hindu family. He did his schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir, Mandi Dabwali and from Guru Nanak College. He has done his masters in theatre from Punjab University, Chandigarh.

After having done local stage work for some time, he worked with Jaspal Bhatti and later ventured out on his own. Sunil’s television career began as a movie jockey in the show Chala Lallan Hero Banne’ on the movie channel Filmy. He was the brand ambassador for the channel for a while.

He also acted in India’s first silent show, SAB TV’s Gutur Gu in the 26 episodes. He was part of comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil and became immensely popular playing the fictional character Guthi. He play the role of father-in-law to the show’s lead Kapil Sharma.

Sunil Grover and Manish Paul started a comedy show on Star Plus, titled Mad in India. Currently he is a part of The Kapil Sharma Show where his characters Dr.Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi have become very famous. The actor has also made a debut in his mother tongue, Punjabi with the film Vaisakhi List with Jimmy Shergill.
